Tools for rough work are quest items featured in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha standalone mod. Together with Tools for fine work and Calibration tools, they are required by a number of Technicians to permit various upgrades.

- Known locations for this item in v1.4007 are:
- Great Metal Factory / Crater Building, in the room opposite the one with collapsed roof, in a broken desk.
- Dark Valley, scrapyard between the Pig Farm and the Anomaly Field Train-Car, inside a truck cabin.
- Agroprom Underground, small room behind the large underground dome, a few floors below Strelok's Hideout.
- Construction Site / Unfinished Building, on the upper floor, in a broken drawer by a skeleton.
- Rostok Factory, north-eastern part of the map, near the flooded house, in a hut.

Before v1.4005, this item was named Basic toolkit and it was required by Deedee and/or Sakharov as part of a side-mission to Find a starter toolkit.
- If the player acquired this piece and was unable to deliver it (Deedee became 'immobilized' in his office), the player would be burdened with the item as dead weight (v1.3003).

- There is one at Duty Checkpoint in Forest. It sits on a shelf but it is a furniture item.
