The Doughboy is an artifact that can be found in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha and all other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. canon games.

When you hold this mystery of the Zone in your hands, you feel how your skin becomes tougher and less sensitive. You can still shoot through it with a bullet, but it's much more difficult to cut through.
- Inventory description, v1.30013 - 1.4005

Born in the "Burnt Fuzz" anomaly. A relatively rare artifact which forms in areas contaminated with chemicals, Kolobok is highly valued for its ability to heal wounds of any kind in mere minutes. For unknown reasons, scientists are spreading rumours among stalkers that the artifact interacts with the bearer's genetic code. Emits radiation.

Overview

v1.30013 - 1.4005:
  • The Doughboy is the Kolobok as seen in the Base Game but has been seriously reduced in effectiveness.
  • Practically impossible to find in the wild.
1.4007:
  • Changed property set, parent anomaly and name.
  • Remains practically impossible to find in the wild.

Notes

v1.30013+
  • May be found in one stash in Rostok Factory, but obtaining the coordinates for this building site stash is challenging.
v1.4005:
  • There were several colourful variants of this artifact that could be 'cheat spawned'.
v1.4007:
  • Only one variant remains.
  • This is a partially coded artifact ("af_tree_fluff") that uses the Doughboy / Kolobok base.
  • The coding does not extend to providing "Tree Fluff" with a unique name, so should one be acquired, it is also named "Kolobok" in inventory.
  • Due to the lack of coding "Tree Fluff" is not instrumentally detectable by the player.

Trivia

v1.30013 - 1.4005:
  • The "Doughboy" is an essential component in the Artifact Merger synthesis of the Compass artifact.
  • The Encyclopedia reference to this recipe refers to the Kolobok.
  • Fortunately, the Artifact Merger itself, when the recipe has been obtained, correctly references the Doughboy as a requirement.
v1.4007:
  • Recipe cut.
